Football in the world stage is being governed by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), which is an International Federation of Association Football. FIFA is created as per Switzerland law. Its headquarters are in Zürich. Football world cup hosted once in four years is one of the most popular sports ever being played. In England, the modern version of the game was modified while the rule of the game is still rooted in the standards set in mid nineteenth century.

The FIFA matches are governed by the football laws governed by FIFA. FIFA board consists of four members. All four members are from United Kingdom’s football association that includes Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England. United Kingdom’s football association gets such high privilege as an honor to their contribution to the development of the modern soccer.

The Game

A rectangle grass field either naturally created or artificially made plays the stage for the football matches. The game focuses on kicking the soccer ball by the teammates into the opposite team’s net to score a point. In this popular game, the goalkeeper plays important role in defending the goal for his team. He also gets to use his arms to save the goal. Players are allowed to use only their legs to move the ball, occasionally the players get to use their torso and head to hit the ball midair. The team, which has scores, more number of goals will be declared winners of the match. If there is a tie then either the game is declared draw or the players get extra time or shootout from penalty.

Penalties in football matches play important role in deciding the flow or fate of the game. Following situations will lead to penalties in any match.
